These are our Rays seats. It is the Handcock Bank Club. We eat and drink for free then go to our seats behind home plate and do more of the same while enjoying the game. This is the best baseball experience we've had.

Horse Riding Lessons

This is Emma's 3rd lesson on riding a horse and she can ride solo and through barrels. She's better at riding a horse than Kelley driving a car.

Fun and Busy 4th of July

We have had a fun and busy Fourth of July.  On the 3rd, we went with friends to the Adler Theater to see the band Wilco.  Kelley and I have been big fans for years and have never had a chance to see them.  This was kind of a bucket list type thing for us and the band did not disappoint.  They did an amazing job, played a set with our favorite songs in it, then ended the night with two encores.  It was great.

The next morning, Kelley was going to run the Firecracker 10K in East Moline.  This is a very challenging course.  Several hills dominate this race during hot weather.  Kelley took 3rd in her age group and came in under 50 minutes.  I was not planning on running it but unfortunately a friend's daughter got sick and he could not race so gave me his entry.  He is an age group below me.  I took 10th in that age group (there was the 1st and 3rd overall winners and a professional triathlete in that division), but would have taken 3rd in my actual age group.  I did not get a PR by any stretch of the imagination, but on a hot, challenging course with little preparation, I'm happy with my time.

After the race, we went back to my parent's house where Emma and Evelyn were at.  My parents grilled and we ate lunch with them.  The plan was to then go to a water park, but the temperatures were way too high.  We are now home and the girls bought some sparkler type items.  We're going to let them swim in the shade, grill dinner, then do their little fireworks.
